CREW TRAINING
'THE CREW' Mondays 5.00 PM SBS Television
For over 15 years THE CREW has provided a musical and performance showcase for hundred of young people : dancers, musicians and performers in a wide variety of genre and styles.
Many people are born with talent but not so many are willing to put the hard yards in to develop their skills to a stage that they can use them to perform and communicate to other people. On 'THE CREW' we are looking for just that sort of person.
Currently we have over 70 musicians and performers associated with the show taking part in a range of ways including:
We have a collaborative, creative melting pot approach to our production. The environment is a great place to experiment with ideas and approaches to performance.
On THE CREW we have a growing bank of video clips that we have produced for bands and artists. These clips are available for viewing in the through the adjacent links and on the 'BAND PROFILES' section of this part of our web site.
Bands and artists are free to use the clips for what ever purpose they see fit e.g. promotions or marketing. Copyright ownership remains with the band and artists performing in the clip however they need to licence the use of the clips to SBA for use on THE CREW.
If you would like you would like to be considered for production of a clip send us a demo. You must be around senior highschool age (plus a few years) and you must have original material
This part of our program also offers an exciting opportunity for young people to learn the ropes of production in a creative environment.
THE CREW provides a much needed avenue for young people to show off their performance skills and refine their craft.
But what if you are a singer without a band or you find it hard to write songs for example? THE CREW is a melting pot of collaborative performance. We can put you with an ensemble that will work with you to develop the talents that you do have and give rise to your performance ideas.
We have over 70 talented performers, writers, arrangers, dancers etc. who perform across a wide variety of styles and genres. We are looking for gifted young people who have put the time into their talents to develop them to a performance level.
This part of our program also offers the oportunity to learn production skills associated with presentation, lighting, live sound, sound recording and video production. If you would like to be a part of this aspect of our program please get in touch.
CREW Studios has a multi - track recording facility with Mac, Qbase and Mackie at its core. Microphones are sponsored by 'Rodes Microphones'.
The facility has been used to record many bands and artists over the years. It has also been used by singers and performers to refine and experiment with their ideas.
This part of our program also offers an opportunity to learn the ropes of sound recording and post production.
At THE CREW we all work as a team, sharing ideas and supporting each others performances. It is a real melting pot and smorgasbord of production and talent.

Video production used to be the domain of elite production houses. With changing technology suddenly it has become accessible to every one. Increasingly video production skills are widely use in a range of industries for example - tourism, scientific, policing, real estate, basically any job that has a web presence can make use of an employee with knowledge and skills in the area of video production.
Production 101 is a introductory course covering the basic principles and techniques of video production. Although the course explains principle that are common the professional end of the industry, the course is designed for the beginner having no prior knowledge and having access to the level of equipment you may find in the home.
The course consists of a series of video clips, relevant PDF notes and suggested exercises. As you complete the tasks included in the course you can upload and video content to youtube and email us the link. We are happy to comment on your work and suggest changes and improvements if needed.
If you take part in this training program you do so entirely at your own risk. You must assess your own safety issues in every part of your own production. We do not accept any responsibility for misadventure, damage, injury, loss of income or anything adverse effecting you or a third party that may arise from your engagement in this training exercise.

RITMO ARCH A 8 piece band with their own unique mix of jazz, latin and rock. The band has played together since school days at Kirrawee High School in Sydney. HOWLER Formerly Firehouse this is a three piece band with an explosive performance in the blues rock genre. Each of the members of the band are virtuoso in their musicianship. These guys need to be seen to be believed!!

Over the last 6 years the The Crew music development program has provided opportunity for a growing number of young artists to record and perform on national television.
The program provides a showcase for young performers and a much needed 'missing pathway' enabling young people to learn and refine their craft while getting exposure on national television.
